The ClipboardMD Service is a communications gateway that lets you securely interact with healthcare professionals and organizations (“Healthcare Providers”). As such, ClipboardMD serves as a liaison between you and your healthcare provider and is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy statement applies to the data collected through www.ClipboardMD.com (the “ClipboardMD Service”).

Introduction

The purpose of this privacy statement (“Privacy Policy”) to give you confidence as you use our ClipboardMD Service. This Privacy Policy is only applicable to our website, and not to any other websites that you may be able to access from www.ClipboardMD.com, each of which may have data collection, storage, and use practices and policies that differ materially from this Privacy Policy.

HIPAA

The ClipboardMD Service complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), a federal program that requires that all medical records and other individually identifiable health information be maintained and transmitted confidentially. To utilize the ClipboardMD Service, you are required to enter a valid phone number that can accept text messages. We will use your phone number to validate your account.

Sharing Your Personal Information

The ClipboardMD Service securely transmits your information to those Healthcare Providers who have previously entered into an agreement to utilize the ClipboardMD Service.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use your personal information collected through the Service to provide the ClipboardMD Service and as described in this Privacy Policy. In support of these uses, ClipboardMD may use personal information:

  • To attempt to authenticate the information you have entered.
  • To provide you with important notifications such as an appointment reminder.
  • To send you potentially valuable information that you approve in advance.

ClipboardMD may access and/or disclose your personal information if we believe such action is necessary to: (a) comply with the law or legal process served on ClipboardMD; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of ClipboardMD (including the enforcement of our agreements); or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety and welfare of users of ClipboardMD services or members of the public.

Collection of Traffic Data

When you visit our website, we automatically track and collect your: (1) IP addresses; (2) domain servers; (3) types of web browser used to access our website; (4) referring source which may have sent you to our website; and (5) other information associated with the interaction of your browser and our website. To comply with HIPAA, we follow generally accepted industry procedures to protect information submitted through our website. Additionally, we store such information in a secure operating environment that is not open to the public and encrypt its storage so that even our own employees are not able to access or view to such data. Our security precautions also apply to all incoming and outgoing fax transmissions.

Children

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) severely restricts what information can be collected from children under the age of 13. For this reason, children under the age of 13 in the United States are prohibited from using the ClipboardMD Service. The ClipboardMD Service is not directed at children, and ClipboardMD does not knowingly collect any information from individuals under the age of 13. If we learn that we have received any information from an individual under the age of 13, we will use that information only to respond directly to that child (or a parent or guardian) to inform him or her that he or she cannot use the Service and subsequently we will delete that information from our servers.

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will also revise the “last updated” date at the bottom of the Privacy Policy. For material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either by placing a prominent notice on the home page of our website or by sending you a notification directly.
